Move files to the OBB folder in the Android

Games or applications do not always work only with the .apk file, in some cases we need other files to complement the game installation. (This is called OBB data )

If you don’t know how to install it correctly, don’t worry; we will explain it here.

How to move files to the OBB folder in Android 13?

🗒️ Before we start…

Since the Android 11+ update, they have imposed some restrictions on file management.

Google has restricted viewing, accessing, or modifying folders or files in the Android folder, which means you can’t copy and paste game OBB data from the native file manager.

But there is no need to worry since these methods are used to install obb data in Android 11, 12 and 13 as well as in the different versions of Android.

Method 1

Before starting the game installation process, it is important to make sure that all the necessary files are downloaded to your device. This includes the game files in .apk format and OBB data in .zip format, which are essential for the proper installation and operation of the game.

Well, for method number one we are going to need ZArchiver, an application that will help us extract and move the files.

✅ We start with the installation

1. Open ZArchiver, give it all the necessary memory permissions and then enter the folder where you downloaded the game. This is the “Download” folder.

2. Once you have found the game (game_obb.zip), press it and choose to extract.

In some cases, you will find two files, the APK and the OBB data, the latter in a compressed file either .zip or .rar.

3. Navigate to the root of the internal memory, and enter the “Android / OBB” folders.

When you are in the obb folder, extract the file there. (If you do not have the OBB folder you must create it)

4. After this ZArchiver will begin to decompress the file, which may take from several seconds to several minutes.

5. Once the extraction is finished, in the OBB folder you will find an apk file.

6. Open the .apk file and click Install.

Steps 5 and 6 only apply if you have the apk and the OBB data in a single compressed file. If you have downloaded them separately, return to the Download folder and install the apk file.

To finish the installation, press-ready, the game will be in the menu with the other applications and will be ready to start.

🎉 You can now start playing!

Method 2

🤔 What will we need?

  • A USB cable
  • A computer or laptop
  • The Android phone

✅ Let’s start installing OBB data on the Android

Likewise, first, we will make sure we have the OBB data on our PC, then we will connect the Android phone to the PC using the USB cable.

In the phone’s notification bar we will press the option Press to see other USB options (It may vary depending on the device) and then choose the file transfer option.

“This would be enough to access, view, and move the folders and files on our phone from the PC.”

Finally, we will copy the OBB data (as an example we will move the obb data to com.tunner.pocketmorties )

We move the folder with the OBB data to the internal storage of our phone At the path: *Android / OBB*
